Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said women should empower themselves technologically and become effective as people's representatives. Speaking at the National Conference of Women Legislators in New Delhi, Mr Modi said mere changes in the system would not suffice and stressed the need for women leaders to make effective interventions. He said it is time to think beyond women's development and move towards women-led development.
Speaking on the
occasion, former President Pratibha Devisingh Patil asked women to come forward and make the nation stronger. She said, children must be taught that men and women are equal from the very beginning.
Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan said women must develop their personality and face the challenges in their life with grit and determination. She asked all those present to take the message of women empowerment to their respective areas.
