Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a meeting of the Union Council of Ministers at Parliament House in New Delhi yesterday evening. The meeting is learnt to have reviewed the government's decisions in the recent past.
During the meeting, the Ministers made presentations on the work done by their Ministries in the last two years. Prime Minister reviewed the performance of all Union ministries to ascertain whether budgetary allocations have been spent wisely. Mr Modi asked them to ensure that schemes are tailored in
such a fashion that the benefit reaches the common man.
Prime Minister also asked the Ministers to implement the schemes mentioned in the election manifesto in true spirit so that the Opposition does not get a chance to accuse the government of falling short on promises. The meeting also assumes significance amid the talks of an imminent cabinet reshuffle. The speculation has intensified over the change in the cabinet following Prime Minister's meeting with BJP President Amit Shah on Wednesday night.
