Prime Minister Narendra Modi had a bilateral meeting with US President Barack Obama at Vientiane, Laos on the sidelines of ASEAN Summit. Sources said, the two leaders reviewed immediate priorities in the strategic partnership and cooperation in several areas including climate change, nuclear energy, solar energy and innovation.
Appreciating Prime Minister’s initiatives in economic reforms, President Obama said that passage of GST will unleash significant economic activity. Reiterating his support, Mr Obama said US will continue to be a strong partner of India. The Prime minister has left for Delhi and will arrive at the National Capital later in the evening.
Apart from that Prime Minister Modi also had bilateral discussion with State Councillor of Myanmar Aung San Suu Kyi. According to MEA spokesperson Vikas Swarup, Mr. Modi said India will always stand with the government and the people Myanmar as the new government tries to fulfill the aspirations of the people. Ms. Suu Kyi briefed Mr. Modi about progress in peace and reconciliation process in Myanmar. The two leaders



discussed furthering cooperation in the areas like Security, Dairy Farming and agriculture and shared Buddhist heritage.
PM Narendra Modi also had bilateral meeting with South Korean President Park Guen-Hye. Two leaders reviewed bilateral relations which were upgraded to special strategic partnership last year during Mr. Modi’s visit to South Korea. Two leaders discussed further cooperation in areas like counter terrorism and maritime security. The two leaders reviewed progress of negotiations to improve India-South Korea comprehensive economic partnership agreement and also 10 billion US dollar package announced last year for infrastructure development in India. 
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also met his Laos counterpart Thongloun Sisoulith. During the meeting, Laos Prime Minister reiterated his country’s support to India as a permanent member of a reformed and expanded UN Security Council. MEA Spokesperson Vikas Swarup said, Lao Prime Minister appreciated India’s support in the areas of Human Resource Development, Agriculture, Irrigation and power.
