Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reached London, United Kingdom on the second leg of his two Nation European tour. UK Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson accorded warm welcome to Prime Minister at the Heathrow airport.
In UK, Prime Minister will have bilateral meeting with his UK counterpart Theresa May and attend Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting. Prime Minister will meet Queen Elizabeth II and also meet CEOs to give a boost to the Make in India campaign.
During his visit, Mr Modi will also address a unique event ‘Bharat Ki Baat, Sabke Saath’, a live interactive conversation in which he will answer questions concerning India. Prime Minister will participate in the two day Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting
from tomorrow.
Trade, health care and technology will be high on agenda among others during the visit. Sources said, thrust will be at the new age areas of engagement between the two countries.
MoU will be signed between the All India Institute of Ayurveda and the College of Medicine in UK. Prime Minister will visit Science Museum and also meet Indian scientists working on Cancer research under the Living Bridge concept.
MoU in the field of innovation is also expected to be signed.Science and technology sector is the fastest growing element of India - UK relation. Joint investment in UK-India research has gone up to over 200 million pound.
