Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said, India's relation with Nepal is friendly based on cordial and deep-rooted ties between the people of two countries.

In a joint press briefing with Nepalese Prime Minister in Kathmandu last evening after delegation-level talks, Mr Modi said, India supports Nepal's aspirations as a prosperous nation.

The Prime Minister said, he is visiting Nepal at a very special time, when elections have been successfully conducted at federal, provincial and local levels. Mr Modi said, the Government of India's vision of Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas is complementary with vision of Nepal Government of Samridh Nepal Sukhi Nepali. 

The Prime Minister said, India is committed to supporting Prime Minister Oli's vision that Nepal should not be a land-locked country but a land- and water-linked nation. The Prime Minister said India will soon install indigenously developed Bhabhatron radiation therapy machine at Bhaktapur cancer hospital in Kathmandu.

India and Nepal held extensive discussion on all aspects of the bilateral ties and expressed firm commitment to take it to newer



heights. After the talks, Mr Modi and Mr Oli also laid the foundation stone of Arun 3 Hydro Electric Power Project.

Elaborating on the Arun Project, Mr Modi said, 900 Megawatt Arun 3 Hydro Power Project is being established by India with an investment of 6000 crore rupees. It is one of the biggest project to be undertaken in Nepal. He said, the project will bring economic and business opportunities in the Himalayan nation. 

The Prime Minister said, both nations agreed that connectivity is one of the most important factor for the development of people of India and Nepal. He said, now both countries will increase connectivity through roads, railways, power transmission and oil pipelines. 

Speaking on the occasion, Prime Minister Oli said, Nepal and India have agreed to take concrete measures to realise the benefits of new partnership for agriculture and connectivity by rail links and waterways. 

Mr Oli said, he and Prime Minister Modi have agreed to address all matters by 19th of September,the Constitution Day of Nepal.
