Prime Minister Narendra Modi will arrive in Kyiv today on a day-long visit to Ukraine. Mr. Modi will hold one-on-one and delegation-level talks with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and the conversation is expected to largely focus on finding ways to resolve the conflict in Ukraine.
Ahead of his much-anticipated visit to a conflict-torn country, Prime Minister said, India firmly believes that no problem can be solved on the battlefield and it is ready to extend all possible cooperation for the restoration of peace and stability in the region. Mr. Modi made the remarks after holding talks with Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk in Warsaw yesterday. The two leaders underscored
the importance of upholding international law and reiterated that all states must refrain from the threat of or use of force against the territorial integrity and sovereignty or political independence of any state, according to a joint statement.
Mr. Modi told the media that the ongoing conflicts in Ukraine and West Asia are a matter of deep concern for all of us. After concluding his trip to Warsaw, Prime Minister Modi is travelling to the Ukrainian capital Kyiv onboard a train under tight security and the journey will take around 10 hours.
