Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold delegation-level talks with his Polish counterpart Donald Tusk in Poland’s Warsaw today. The two leaders are expected to review bilateral relationships and exchange views on range of issues. 

The meeting between the two sides will also offer an opportunity to explore other avenues. Mr Modi will also call on the President of Poland Andrzej Duda.

Earlier, Prime Minister Modi will be accorded ceremonial welcome. He will also lay a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. The Prime Minister will also interact with business leaders and Polish influencers.

Last night, addressing the Indian diaspora in Warsaw, Mr Modi said, today’s India seeks to connect with everyone and wants the development and welfare of all. He said, for decades, India had a policy of maintaining distance from other countries, but the policy of today’s India is to remain close to all nations.

India’s stance is clear that this is not an era of war and India believes in dialogue and diplomacy to resolve conflicts.

Mr. Modi stressed that India advocates for peace in the region. He highlighted that the world now respects India as Vishwabandhu.

Prime Minister reached Warsaw last evening in the first leg of his two-nation visit to Poland and Ukraine.

In a social media post, he said, this visit will add momentum to the India-Poland friendship and benefit the people of these two nations.

This is the first visit by an Indian Prime Minister to Poland in the past 45 years.

In the second and final leg of his two nation tour, the Prime Minister will reach Ukraine tomorrow on the invitation of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

 This will be the first visit by an Indian Prime Minister to Ukraine since bilateral relations began in 1992.
