Prime Minister Narendra Modi will arrive in Bhopal this evening. He will inaugurate the newly built war memorial- Shaurya Smark and address a meeting of ex-servicemen at Lal Pared ground.
Defense Minister Manohar Parrikar will accompany the Prime Minister. Mr. Modi will also call on Jain seer Acharyashri Vidhya Sagar Maharaj, who is staying in Bhopal during Chaaturmas.
The Shaurya Smarak is an imaginative and colourful presentation of valour of Indian forces and a tribute to the martyrs. The Smarak has been built on an about 13 acres campus at a cost of 41 crore rupees.
Various stages of life, war, death and victory over death have been displayed here. Besides this, tradition of Indian Soldiers’ valor and history has been exhibited in the Shaurya gallery. Country's gratitude towards martyrs has been displayed in the
form of martyrs blood drop and Shaurya Stambh.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also arrive in Goa today, a day ahead of the BRICS summit. Eleven heads of the countries will start arriving in Goa today.The Summit will start tomorrow in the costal state. Goa Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar told reporters that all the heads of the countries will be staying at three different five star resorts where unprecedented security arrangements have been made.
Mr Parsekar said the roads leading to the summit venue and hotels, where the leaders will stay, will be blocked only during the movement of the VVIPs, which will ensure that there is no inconvenience to the locals.
Chief Minister said, Goa government has spent 75 crore rupees on the improvement of facilities like road widening which are required during the summit.
