Warangal: In Telangana, polling for the bye-election of Warangal Lok Sabha constituency is being held today. Polling, which began at 7 AM will continue till 5 PM. The Election Commission has made elaborate arrangements for conducting the election in a free and fair way.
Chief Electoral Officer of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, Mr K Bhanwarlal said, 1778 polling stations were set up and 5,500 polling staff were engaged for polling duties. 20 companies of paramilitary
forces are deployed in the constituency limits. As many as 23 candidates are in the fray for the bye -election. For the first time, the photographs of candidates are also provided on EVMs. Counting of votes will be held on 24th of this month and the election results are set to be declared on the same day. The Warangal bye-election became necessary as its sitting Parliament member Mr Kadiyam Srihar resigned from the seat and joined the Cabinet of Chief Minister Mr K Chandra Sekhara Rao.
