President Pranab Mukherjee has called upon the Indian Diaspora to actively participate in the Government’s flagship programmes. He was addressing Indian community during a reception organized in his honour in the Ghanaian capital Accra last night.
Mr Mukherjee said, the initiatives like Make in India, Start Up India, Clean India and others are aimed at transforming lives of large multitude of people and the active participation of the Diaspora will help in growing Indian
economy.
The President said, his visit was form of action initiated by Prime Minister Mr Modi which he articulated at the conclusion of the 3rd Indo African summit held last year.
On the second day of his visit to Ghana, beside holding bilateral level talks with his Ghanaian counterpart where both the countries signed three important agreements, Mr Mukherjee also unveiled a statue of Mahatma Gandhi and addressed students and faculty members of University of Ghana.
