President Droupadi Murmu will visit places of cultural significance in Malawi today, on the last day of her three-day stay in the African Nation. Yesterday, the President held bilateral meeting with her counterpart, Lazarus Chakwera.

India and Malawi also signed four MoUs of cooperation in various sectors following delegation-level talks. India and Malawi had signed 4 MoUs for cooperation in the fields of  Sports, Youth matters Pharmaceuticals and Art and Culture last day. India also agreed to give 1000 metric tonnes of rice and Bhabhatron cancer treating machine to Malawi. President Droupadi Murmu had also announced to open a Permanent artificial limb replacement centre in Malawi.

Today, the President is scheduled to visit the Sree Radha Krishna temple and the famous



Malawi Lake. Later in the day, the President will leave for New Delhi after the completion of her weeklong three-nation visit to Algeria, Mauritania and Malawi. 

The President reached Malawi on Thursday in the final leg of her week-long visit to three African Nations after concluding successful visits to Algeria and Mauritania, where she held talks with her respective counterparts to enhance bilateral ties.

President Droupadi Murmu’s visit to three African nations has added a new chapter to the historic relations of India with these countries. It was the first-ever visit by a President of India to these African countries and came a year after the African Union was made a permanent member of G 20 during India’s Presidency.
