President Ram Nath Kovind arrived in the Suriname capital Paramaribo on the second leg of his three-nation tour to Greece, Suriname and Cuba.
He was received at the airport by Suriname President Desire Delano Bouterse early this morning. Mr Kovind just after arrival paid his respect at the Mahatma Gandhi statue.
The Indian delegation includes Minister of state for steel, Vishnu Deo Sai and two Members of
Parliament.
The President was in Greece for four days where he met his counterpart Prokopis Pavlopoulos and Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras. Mr Kovind in his talks with the Greek leaders reaffirmed the ancient and cordial ties between the two countries.
Three MOUs were signed during the visit, on subjects such as Cultural relations, Standardisation and collaboration between Foreign Service Institutes of both countries.
