President Pranab Mukherjee has extended his greetings and felicitations to the Government and people of Iran on the occasion of Nouroz. In his message to President of Iran Dr. Hassan Rouhani, Mr Mukherjee said, the close friendship and cooperation between India and Iran are built on historical, civilisational and cultural ties spanning more than two millennia. He said, in modern times, India- Iran bilateral relations are defined by close and multifaceted cooperation in diverse



fields. The President said, India is looking forward to develop the mutually beneficial partnership to greater heights in the coming years.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has greeted the Parsi Community on the occasion of Navroz. In a tweet, Mr Modi said, he is praying for a year that is full of happiness, prosperity and good health. Navroz celebrated as the Iranian and Persian New Year on 21st March by Parsi Zoroastrians of central Asian origin.
