New Delhi: President Pranab Mukherjee has said that his visit to Jordan, Palestine and Israel has helped deepen India’s mutually beneficial relations with the three countries. Speaking to the Journalists on board the Air India one while returning from Israel he said that India’s partnerships will enhance in future. Mr Mukherjee said that his first ever visit, which was also the first ever by an Indian President to the three countries reflects the importance given by India to them.
Earlier yesterday, the President invited Israel to participate in the transformation of India. In his acceptance speech after the conferment of honorary doctorate by Hebrew University in Jerusalem, he said that India sought Israel’s participation in Digital India programme. He also lauded
Israel by saying that the country has proven itself in the field of research and technical innovation.
Scripting a new chapter in the bilateral relations with Jordan, Palestine and Israel, President Pranab Mukherjee returned to India from his historic state visit to the three nations. The president extended invitation to the countries to invest in India and also sought steps to further deepen the ties.
The accompanying academic delegation exchanged Memoranda of Understanding in all the three places. In Israel, the president condemned all forms of terrorism and called for peaceful resolution of all disputes. Commenting on Mr Mukherjee’s visit, Israel President Reuven Rivlin said that History is not written every day.
