Home Minister Rajnath Singh chaired an Inter-Ministerial Coordination Meeting on Aviation security in New Delhi yesterday.During the meeting, Mr Singh discussed various issues relating to aviation security. Civil Aviation Minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju, Minister of State for Civil Aviation Jayant Sinha, Ministers of State for Home Affairs Hansraj Gangaram Ahir and Kiren Rijiju and senior officials attended the
meeting.
Sources said, the meeting deliberated on the possibility of sharing of a portion of security expenses in airports by travellers.The issue of security audit of nearly 100 civil airports in the wake of growing threat of terror attacks, was also discussed. It was proposed that all such facilities should be brought under the cover of Central Industrial Security Force gradually.
