Home Minister Rajnath
Singh has directed the security forces to crack down on those instigating
violence and choreographing stone pelting mobs in Jammu and Kashmir. The Home
Minister also directed the security forces to try to bring back normalcy in the
state within a week. The directive was given during an hour-long meeting on
Sunday the Home Minister had with top security officials, including National
Security Advisor Ajit Doval, besides others.
The Home Minister
said that normalcy should be
brought back within a week and school and other
educational institutions should function as students are worst sufferers during
the prolonged turmoil. According to Official sources, the Home Minister told
the officials that Attempts should also be made to reopen shops and other
commercial establishments.
Mr Singh reviewed the situation in the state. The officials gave a briefing on the prevailing situation as well as along the border and the steps taken to restore normalcy in the state.
