BJP General Secretary Ram Madhav met PDP Chief Mehbooba Mufti in Srinagar to discuss formation of a new government in Jammu and Kashmir. Mr. Madhav arrived in Srinagar yesterday to hold discussions with the PDP leader to break the stalemate over the issue. During an hour long meeting, Mr. Madhav is understood to have conveyed the message from top BJP leaders and Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the PDP Chief. PDP is reported to have reiterated its demands and conveyed its concerns it had flagged after the death of Party
Patron and former Chief Minister Mufti Mohd. Sayeed.
PDP wants time bound return of power projects, vacation of land under Army’s use, upholding Article 370, addressing internal dimension of Kashmir, adequate rehabilitation package for 2014 flood affected people and various other tangible CBMs. With clear understanding of ground situation in Kashmir, PDP seems to be cautiously treading the tricky path to achieve its most propounded pro people agenda while taking over reigns of power in the State.
