SC refuses to stay NEET ordinance

Fri 27 May 2016, 13:11:48
The Supreme Court on Friday refused to stay the NEET ordinance that allowed states to conduct their own exams for MBBS and BDS courses for this year.
The states now have the option of either conducting their own exam or be part of the NEET to fill 85 per cent of the Under Graduate (UG) medical and dental seats.
The

apex court said that staying the ordinance at this stage would create further confusion for students and allowed the petition to be listed on reopening after the vacation. The court was hearing a petition filed by Indore-based doctor Anand Rai.
Phase I of NEET was held on May 1 and Phase II is scheduled for July 24.
