The Supreme Court will hear today the bail plea of JNU Students Union President Kanhaiya Kumar, who has been arrested on sedition charges. His bail petition has been mentioned before a bench of justices J Chelameswar and A M Sapre. Kumar approached the apex court for bail yesterday.



In his petition, he has said that there is no need for his custodial interrogation as he has already been sent to judicial custody.
Kumar also submitted that there is a threat to his life and there is a need for the apex court to intervene for safeguarding him.
