New Delhi: The Supreme Court will on Monday hear the plea of Yakub Abdul Razak Memon, the prime convict in the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts case. Yakub sought a stay on the execution of his death sentence scheduled for July 30.
Meanwhile the preparations are in full swing at the Nagpur Central Prison with
authorities conducting dummy trials. Maharashtra Inspector General of Police (Prisons) visited the jail to take a review of the preparation for the hanging, Yakub.
The 1993 Mumbai serial blasts had claimed 257 lives. Memon's brother, Tiger Memon, and underworld don Dawood Ibrahim were the masterminds of the blasts.
