India's Foreign Secretary S Jaishankar called on the Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in Dhaka last evening and discussed recent developments in Indo-Bangla relations and the region. During the talks, Mr. Jaishankar raised the issue of SAARC and drew her attention to its current deadlock on which the premier said we should not let it die.
Ms Hasina told Jaishankar, that the two neighbours so far have settled different outstanding issues like Land Boundary and enclave problems and they could solve any problem through discussion if they have good intention.Ms Hasina also sought more discussions on the implementation of the Bangladesh, Bhutan,



India and Nepal motor vehicle agreement alongside enhanced cooperation in other sectors for peoples' welfare.
Jaishankar also conveyed India's willingness to take more development projects in Bangladesh as per its need.On Sheikh Hasina's visit to India in the first half of April, the Foreign Secretary said, Dhaka-Delhi ties would be strengthened further. He also discussed preparatory aspects of her proposed visit at the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi who had invited her during his Dhaka visit in 2015.
Mr Jaishankar also met his Bangladeshi counterpart Shahidul Haque and reviewed the areas of bilateral cooperation.
