New Delhi: In what might come as a relief for the families of the deceased connected to the Vyapam scam case, the Supreme Court today ordered that the probe into the case be transferred to the Central Bureau of Investigation.

The SC also issued notices to the Madhya Pradhesh High Court, the Central government and M.P. Governor Ram Naresh Yadav on a plea seeking the Governor's removal from his post.

Mr.

Yadav is alleged to have major links to the scam but has been protected from investigation thus far by ‘constitutional immunity’ as long as he holds the post of Governor.

Documents uncovered on Wednesday showed that he was actually named as an accused by the police in one of the cases relating to the scam.

The SC also sought a response from the CBI on this matter by 24 July.
