President of Swiss Confederation Doris Leuthard will hold talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi today.
A number of agreements are expected to be signed in several areas after the talks. She will also meet President Ramnath Kovind at Rashtrapati Bhawan.The visiting dignitary was accorded ceremonial reception at Rashtrapati Bhavan this morning. She was received by President Ramnath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the ceremonial reception.
Vice President Venkaiah Naidu will call on Ms Leuthard. Minister of External Affairs and other Ministers will also make separate calls on Swiss President.
Ms. Leuthard arrived
in New Delhi yesterday evening on a three-day visit to India. Ms Leuthard was received at the airport by Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya. The Swiss leader is being accompanied by senior Government officials and a large business delegation of leading Swiss companies.
India and Switzerland enjoy robust economic ties, with Switzerland being seventh largest trading partner and eleventh largest foreign investor for India. Both countries share common views on many major global issues.
The upcoming visit will provide an opportunity to both sides for holding wide-ranging discussions on bilateral, global and regional issues of mutual interest.
