Hyderabad: Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has called for a cabinet meeting on Tuesday. All the ministers are advised to attend the meeting without failure as key decisions are likely to be taken.
However, TRS government will mainly focus on Hyderabad keeping the Great Hyderabad Municipal Corporation elections in mind and new welfare schemes are likely to be introduced.
The state Cabinet would discuss at length the action plan for two-bedroom housing scheme, which the government is hoping to kick-start in a big way this year. It may be mentioned here that KCR had extensively toured several bastis during Swachh Hyderabad programme and promised two-bedroom flats with all amenities to the urban poor.
Already a model-housing colony is nearing completion at Bhoiguda, Secunderabad and the CM promised to build similar flats in various places falling under Secunderabad, Sanathnagar and Khairatabad Assembly constituencies. KCR is expected to seek views of his council of ministers so that the flagship housing scheme kicks off smoothly in ten districts.
Other key items listed in the agenda include preparations in ten districts for the state formation day fete (to be held from June 2-7), job notifications for vacancies identified in various departments
as well as new recruitments for the Drinking Water Grid and upcoming power projects in the state. Also government’s steps for regularization of contract staff would figure in discussions.
Already various departments has begun scrutinizing credentials of contract staff to prepare final list, which would be submitted to the government at the earliest.With the government set to unveil the much-talked about industrial policy on June 7, the Cabinet will deliberate on the IT policy aimed at wooing big players to invest in the state.
The Cabinet will also take a decision on land purchase policy, which would enable the revenue department to acquire small bits of lands for various purposes without waiting for land acquisition formalities that was causing inordinate delay at times. The TRS government has decided to hand over pattas for the poor who applied for regularization under GO-58 on the eve of state formation day.
KCR would be briefing the Council of Ministers about the foundation stone for new constructions at Yadagirigutta which is likely during the first week of June, foundation stone for the Yadadri Power Plant at Damaracharla, besides inaugurating the Water Grid Pylon at Choutuppal.
A debate on the upcoming MLC elections is also expected.
