India has said that terrorist outfits posing threats to the security of Africa deserve the attention of the UN Security Council (UNSC).
India's permanent representative to the United Nations, Ruchira Kamboj, said that offering external solutions to African problems without the involvement of Africans have not served their interest. She said that Africa will remain India's top priority. The Indian enjoy also reiterated the fact that collective efforts should be made towards regional diplomacy, mediation, reconciliation, and
security sector reforms bringing peace to the continent.
She said, Africa’s continuing denial of representation in the permanent category of membership in this Council is a historical injustice that needs to be corrected sooner than later. Ms Kamboj also demanded attention from the International community to the peace-building initiatives in Africa. She further added that major donors in developed countries should increase their overseas development assistance commitments.
