He opens his speech by saying that house should respect mandate in democracy and threats don't work in Parliament. He says that for 14 years he was threatened about jail in Gujarat but nothing happened.In the last 9 months,
Congress has often alleged that NDA is merely renaming schemes started by them. To counter this, he lists out series of schemes which were started during Atal Bihari Vajpayee's rule but their name were changed during UPA tenure. Modi tries to break the perception of BJP being a party of upper class hindus of North India by listing different states which do not fit this stereotype. Opposition has alleged that Modi government is anti-poor. Modi answers this accusation by listing out schemes which have been rolled out for the sake of poor. He says from Skill India to Ganga Cleaning projects all the schemes have been done for the under privileged and not for the corporate world. He says that money from coal auctions goes to states in the eastern belt and this will aid in their development. He says that their is no political agenda in this and Congress-ruled states will be also asked to join the development process.When we build toilets in schools is this for corporates? Is Jan Dhan about corporates: PM Suddenly during PM Modi's speech, Mayawati makes an intervention. She says that if the government is indeed pro-poor why is there no reservations for SC-STs in private sector. She says that if reservation is not implemented then it would mean that government is pandering to the corporates. PM Modi starts speaking again. He lists out insurance schems started to bring more people under the protective net. He mentions schemes like Pradhan Mantri Jivan Jyoti Yojana, Atal Pension Yojana etc. Many parties have needled NDA government for transferring officers arbitarily. To set the record straight, PM Modi again takes recourse to history. Both Ghulam Nabi ji and Anand ji spoke about officers being transferred. Do we remember what happened in 2004: PM @narendramodiIn 2004 the Cabinet Secretary was removed, Foreign Secretary was made without regarding seniority. You insulted Governors & removed them: PM Modi comments that many critics say that while lot of talks are there nothing really has changed on ground. To couner this, Modi quotes stats on work done. He takes on UPA's development record and says that work on ground has increased leaps and bounds in the last 9 months.
