Mumbai Apr 04, 2015 (Agency)Railway police seized 746 gm of cocaine from two Nigerian nationals at Mumbai Central terminus, the biggest haul of narcotics in the city this year, officials said on Saturday.Government Railway Police (GRP) officials said the duo had hidden capsules stuffed with cocaine, which was valued at Rs 64 lakh, in their undergarments. This was the third seizure of cocaine at Mumbai Central terminus this year. A total of 980 gm of cocaine with a street value of Rs 78 lakh has been seized by authorities. At around 9.30am on Friday, a GRP team posted at Mumbai Central spotted the duo loitering around and approached them. They panicked and pushed a constable before trying to run out of the terminus.A team of officials headed by senior inspector Rajendra Trivedi chased the men and apprehended them. The arrested men were identified as Ogugua Peter Onyekwelu, 34, and Arthur Ifeanyi Maduawuna, 29. They had arrived from Delhi in the Rajdhani Express on Friday morning and were apparently waiting for somebody at Mumbai Central."When one of them pushed the constable and began running, we nabbed them and found two packets of capsules in their

underwear," said Trivedi.Capsules containing 406 gm of cocaine were found on Onyekwelu, while 340 gm were in the possession of Maduawuna. The duo claimed capsules contained a medicine that they ate with food. When GRP officials said they would order food which would have to be eaten with the powder, the Nigerians revealed the capsules were stuffed with cocaine, officials said. The duo had been in India for at least three months and they had tourist visas.Officials were ascertaining where the Nigerians had stayed in Delhi residence and their activities in the national capital.A team of Mumbai police's Anti Narcotics Cell verified the capsules contained cocaine. The GRP registered a case against the duo under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act and would later be produced in a railway court.Earlier, the GRP seized 182 gm of cocaine with a street value of Rs 10 lakh and arrested one person on December 4, 2014. On January 28, the GRP arrested one Nigerian and seized 114 gm of cocaine with a street value of Rs 6.5 lakh from him. The last seizure of cocaine occurred on February 11, when the GRP nabbed another Nigerian with 120 gm of cocaine.
