(PTI) : The captured Pakistani terrorist Mohammed Naved Yakub was today taken to New Delhi from Jammu for further questioning. Naved was shifted to Joint Interrogation Centre (JIC) in Miran Sahib in Jammu and taken to New Delhi today by NIA team, police sources on Thursday. NIA chief Sharad Kumar yesterday flew to Jammu to interrogate LeT's Pakistani militant Naved, who was captured during an attack on a BSF bus last week. Soon after arriving here at 1130 hours, Kumar reached the Joint Interrogation Centre (JIC) at Miran Sahib on the outskirts of the city where he interrogated the militant, sources said. At 1310 hours, he left for Udhampur district that left two BSF personnel and a terrorist dead. Kumar also visited Udhampur where terror attack took place on Wednesday. He held meeting of police officers of Udhampur at Sheri Kashmir Police Academy, inspected the bus which was fired upon by the militants and personally spoke with the injured BSF jawans at military hospital in Udhampur yesterday. He also met some people connected with case. He also reported to have met army officers at Northern Command. In a reply to reporters' question while he was leaving from JIC at Miran sahib, Kumar said he had come to "ascertain the facts and
review the case personally".Sources in the agency, which had sought Naved's custody for further investigation, had yesterday said that he could be sent to Delhi for further questioning. The anti-terror agency chief also held a meeting with NIA officers to review the case here and discussed the detention of several people in Kashmir Valley in connection with the matter. NIA and J&K Police have been questioning nearly 11 people detained after Naved was caught by some villagers whom he had taken hostage. "It's a very important case for us and the entire probe is being done in a scientific manner," Kumar had said.
On August 11, a special court in Jammu handed over Naved's custody to the central agency for 14 days.Naved was also taken to all the places in Kashmir that he had mentioned during interrogation after he was overpowered by two of the three villagers he had taken as hostages. Naved along with another terrorist Noman had ambushed a BSF convoy killing two constables. Noman was killed in a retaliatory fire.NIA has expressed unhappiness over leak of interrogation reports to the media, which has created hurdles in reaching to some of the vital and important people linked with the August 5 Udhampur terror attack, police officials said.
