Hyderabad: the US Consulate at Hyderabad stands fourth in the number of student visa applications processed when compared with other US visa centres in the world. In sync with these numbers are the total student visa applications received at the Hyderabad Consulate in the year 2014-15 which jumped to about 50 per cent when compared to 2013-14.
Revealing these statistics, Michael Mullins, Consul General, US Consulate General on Wednesday also quoted a recent credible report
to share that the number of Indian students in US has gone up from 1.1 lakh in 2013-14 to 1.4 lakh in 2014-15. Mr. Mullins was addressing the media at the inauguration of the ‘University Fair’ organised by US India Education Foundation and EducationUSA.
Representatives from 22 universities from the US participated in the event and interacted with the students to brief them on the academic programmes, admission criteria and scholarships related to various UG and PG courses.
