Director General of World Health Organization, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has expressed happiness that India's ambitious Ayushman Bharat scheme has provided free care to almost 7 lakh people in its first 100 days.
In a tweet, Mr Ghebreyesus praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Health Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda for their visionary
leadership for Health for All.
The Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, aims to provide insurance cover of five lakh rupees per annum to 50 crore poor people.
The world's largest ambitious health care scheme, aims to benefit more than 10 crore poor families in the country.
